The Inclusive India Campaign

The Inclusive India Campaign, organised by Asha Bhavan Centre on 13th August, 2017, saw the participation of over 1,500 people from different parts of West Bengal. The programme started at 11 AM in presence of Mr. Sultan Ahamed, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Mr. Haider Aziz Safwi, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, Smt. Ranu Bhattacharya, Commissioner, Disabilities, Govt. of West Bengal, Prof. Manjushree Roy, Principal Calcutta National Medical College, Prof. Dr. Sankar Nath Mukherjee, Md. Babar Ali, Officer In Charge, Park Circus Traffic Guard, Mr. Abhishek Day and Rabiul Hasnat, Asst. Superintendent Calcutta National Medical College, Mr. Alok Das, Ex- Indian Football Captain, Ms. Taherina Nasrin, Swimer (English Channel Winner), Mr. Sukanta Paul, Athletic Secretary, Howrah District Sports Association, Mr. Swpan Chetel, Head Teacher. 

A colorful walk from Aliah University grounds to Kolkata's Avenue was the main event of the program, where participants walked with posters, flags and banners spreading awareness about inclusion.

23 registered non-government organisations from all over the state were also present to ensure success of the campaign, along with the Commissioner of Disability. They arranged a meeting & discussed ways to collaborate with The National Trust for working towards the wellbeing of Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities.
