Measurement and Casting Camp
  • Orthopedic Workshop Department and CBR Department organized a measurement and casting camp at Deulia of Purba Medinipur District where some VIPs of Indian Politician were present such as Mr. Shubhendu Adhikary, Member of Parliament, Biplab Roy Chowdhury, Member of West Bengal Legislative Assembly, Mr. Gandhi Hazra, President of Purba Medinipur District Authority and other renowned persons.

All India Marwari Mahila Samiti
  •  All India Marwari Mahila Samiti (Community Foundation) had organized an exhibition cum sale Fair from 26th July to 28th July 2011 at Ice Skating Rink an auditorium in kolkata for the NGOs where they invited Asha Bhavan Centre to participate over there. The children of ABC had went to participate in the same with the hand made paper products, candle and woolen clothes etc that they make in the Vocational Training Unit.

Powerful Cyclone "Aila"
  • a powerful cyclone, “Aila”, crossed over the Gangetic West Bengal and other parts of the state causing huge devastation in the entire state and especially in the Indian Sunderbans. It was described as one of the worst case of disaster in that area in the 21st century. Severe cyclone along with heavy rainfall increased the quantum of damage. Among the districts, South 24 Parganas was worst affected by that cyclone. Sunderbans being a part of the district has been affected severely. On 17th June 2009 relief was provided to 864 families of Lahiripur Gram Panchayet.

The Annual Review
  • The annual review and planning workshop of Asha Bhavan Centre was held on 2nd April 2009 at our Kathila Campus. It was the time for all staff members to meet together and reviewed the activities that they had already completed and the program they are going to perform in the coming session.198 energetic staff members of ABC attended the workshop.

Health Check Up Camp
  • Katwa Bodhoday Vidya Mandir of Burdwan District in association with Indian Red Cross Society, Katwa Sub Divisional Branch, had organized a health check up camp on 24th March 2009. Three doctors namely Dr. Sekhar Sarkar (Eye), Dr. Partha Sarathi Rai Choudhury (Medicine) and Dr. Srikanta Bhattacharjee (Dental) and three para medical staff had come to check up the health. On that day 88 students had undergone examination for Height, weight, dental and Vision Check up. The whole process ended with smooth cooperation from both the ends.

Annual Sports and Cultural Programme
  • 5th March 2009 Uluberia North circle had organized an Annual Sports and Cultural Programme on I. E. D.C Uluberia for persons with disabled children.In which 32 children had participated in different events. Out of which 20 children hold 1st, 2nd and 3rd position and received prizes.

Baganda Rangmahal Math
  • 22nd February 2009 Baganda Rangmahal Math had organized a drawing competition in which 12 children from our centre had participated in the programme.

Vocational Training
  • In Vocational Training Unit we have started one more unit named as Prataya Deep where deaf and dumb, mentally retarded and physicallychallenged children make candles and sell in the market. It is an initiative to make challenged children self independent in future.

Kisori Shakti Yojna
  • Noapara an underprivileged village consisting Muslim community at Bagnan block, of Howrah District where Asha Bhavan Centre made an effort to uplift the socio economic condition of the distressed people emphasized in young girl. In collaboration with Social welfare depart of the Government of West Bengal we conducted a training programme on tailoring with 52 young girls. By this training we make them a job oriented skill person, which help them to establish in the community. The programme had completed on 12th January 2009. The evaluation was made by a team of professionals, includes District Social Welfareofficer and Block Social Welfare Officer. At the end of this programme we provide the final certificate to the trainees.

Cultural and Drawing Competition
  • 12th January 2009 Howrah Zila Parishad, District Social welfare Department and District Sarba Siksha Mission had organized a cultural and drawing competition for persons with disability. Near about 30 children had participated in the programme. Out of which one child had got 2nd position and two of them got third position. The certificates were awarded to them.

ONCG Support
  • ONCG has spread their generous hand to support us for making our mission success. They have donated two lacs rupees by sponsoring 20 disabled vulnerable children who are the strength of Asha Bhavan Centre.

Krishi Mela
  • 1st January 2009 Krishi Mela, Chengail had organized a drawing competition. Near about 46 children with special need from our centre had participated in the programme.

Science City Auditorium
  • at Science City auditorium, Kolkata a special hearing aid distribution camp was organized where 16 children of Asha Bhavan Centre gota pair of digital BTE (Behind the ear).The hearing aid given to them at free of cost and according to audiogram.

Shoppers Stop
  • Shoppers stop a big shopping mall of Kolkata had come to celebrate their 17th foundation day at Asha Bhavan Centre. We were honored  to welcome members of Shoppers stop. They have donated 150 sweaters. ABC is grateful to members of Shoppers stop who have brought an amazing day for physically and mentally challenged children.

Nokia India Pvt. Ltd.
  • India’s largest mobile company Nokia India Pvt. Ltd. had come to celebrate Children’s Day with our physically and mentally Challenged children. Children were very happy to welcome the members of Nokia India Pvt. Ltd. This was very special day for children. The representatives of Nokia havedonated 100 school bags, 70 drawing books and 250 diapers.

Donated 250 blankets
  • Rameshji Dhuldhule and Jayraj Jalluri members of HPCL had come to spend their valuable time with our differently able children. They had donated 250 blankets to our children which are very needful during winter season.

Marketing strategy
  • To give exposure of Vocational Trade and to develop the Marketing strategy, three team member including a community members of Asha Bhavan Centre had participated in the Inauguration Programme and workshop of ARUNIM (An approach for marketing the product made by the disabled persons), which was held on 22nd September 2008 at Constitution Hall in Delhi.

Cleft Lip and Pallet Screening Camp
  • Asha Bhavan Centre in collaboration with Tata memorial Hospital and dealpota Seba Samity had organized Cleft Lip and Pallet Screening Camp where 35 beneficiaries were selected for free corrective operation in Tata Hospital.

Touch Numerous Hearts
  • “Touch Numerous Hearts”was the slogan in which the leading corporate bank HDFC touched hearts of the numerous children in our home and outreach services with their unique effort.They celebrated their anniversary on 31st March and on 16th April 2008 where our representatives displayed a desk and sell their products crafted by our children like embroidery clothes, hand made paper products.

State Level sports
  • Mass Education Department Government of West Bengal organized the 14th State Level sports meet for people with disabilities at the Uluberia stadium in collaboration with Rajya Pratibandhi Sanmiloni where 40 children had participated in this sports event and received 12 prizes.

  • Asha Bhavan in association with Mennonite Central Committee arranged the inter school sports meet in Parbakshi school ground. The enthusiastic students from different schools of various districts came to participate in this interschool sports.

  • Asha Bhavan organized a Disability Identification cum Certification camp in association with the valuable guidance from Health and Social Department, Government of West Bengal in our kathila Campus. Near about 127 persons with Disability received certificates.

Participated in a three days leadership camp
  • ABC team members participated in a three days leadership camp in Puri, Orissa. The camp involved introducing the participants to transactional leadership and personality development process through an interactive and highly participatory exercise, including team building as the central theme.The camp was followed by two days of annual review and planning meet.

Part in cultural program
  • the children of ABC took part in cultural program as well as competition in Haldia Utsav and the team stood first in the said competition and was awarded by the Mela Committee with cash gift of rupees three thousand. There was also a decorated stall of paper products and some posters about disability were put on to sensitize the spectators and to identify the disability.

The World without Barrier campaign
  • The World without Barrier campaign was launched through a gala event at Hotel Hyatt Regency in Kolkata. The event was sponsored by American Express financial Services Limited and over 150 corporate and social leaders participated in the event. The campaign was formally inaugurated by Mr. Russy Modi, noted corporate leader and socialite. After a brief presentation on the campaign, participants were taken through a musical performance by famous percussionist Mr. Bickram Ghosh.

  • a retail shopping event organized by Shoppers Stop had a stall of Asha Bhavan proudly displaying its products. The range of products included environment friendly hand made paper products and clothes products made by our children. The 15-days event was a huge success and since then, Shoppers Stophas been regularly supporting ABC initiatives.

  • Kolkata wherein over 100 children participated in the sensitization program followed by quiz competition. Certificates were awarded to all he participants and prizes were distributed to quiz winners.

Joy Ride for the children of Asha Bhavan
  • It was a day of Joy Ride for the children of Asha Bhavan. With support of Rotary Club, Park Point about 40 disabled children from ABC undertook a ride in a decorated tram car in Kolkata. The ride was fun all along, colourful and included food and refreshments.

  • Novartis India Ltd had organized a drawing competition in which one of our child named Diponkar Mondal had got a first position and received a cheque amounting to Rs. 5000 along with a certificate.

  • Dance Bangla Dance is one of the most popular Bengali reality show in Zee Bangla Television. The children of Asha Bhavan Centre were invited as special guests in the said programme.
